GIA 2023

GIA are my dream clients. Every year they hold their careers fair event, and every year they ask me to film (and edit) it. As an event videographer I’m always looking for new angles and opportunities to get creative, and what I always love about this vibrant careers fare are the range of speakers, and the absolute enthusiasm of those attending, who all clearly get a great deal from the day.

This event offers something valuable for everyone, whether you're seeking to enter the international gem and jewelery industry or aiming to advance your existing career. Held at the beautiful Goldsmiths' Hall, in the City of London it’s a unique opportunity to engage with recruiters, receive personalised career coaching, and gain insights from a panel of seasoned professionals.

The opening panel will kickstart discussions on "Job Success in Today’s Market," moderated by GIA President and CEO, Susan M. Jacques. Panelists, including Barry Sullivan from Jewellery Advisory Services, Lewis Malka from Lewis Malka London, Lisa Levinson from Diamond Producers Association London, Karina Sena from Karyna Sena, and Laura Gallon from Laura Gallon Joaillerie, will share their experiences and offer valuable advice to attendees.

"We're excited to reintroduce this unique career fair to job seekers in London, especially after the necessary hiatus of the past two years," expressed Mehdi Saadian, director of GIA’s London school and opening speaker of the event. "With the evolving job market and the opportunities available at this career fair, attendees – whether job seekers or those looking to advance their careers – will leave with valuable connections, inspiration, and potentially a new career path."

Attendees will have the chance to make lasting impressions with recruiters from renowned brands such as Adam’s Auctioneers, Fabergé, Hubert Jewelry, Jolyon Marshall, Queensmith, Tiffany & Co., and more. Positions across various sectors of the industry, including jewelry design, retail sales, watchmaking, buying, teaching, and management, will be available. Additionally, job seekers can sign up for one-on-one career coaching sessions with experienced industry professionals covering a range of topics related to gem and jewelry.
