2021 CHURCH SYNOD WITH PRINCE EDWARD AND ARCHBISHOPS OF CANTERBURY AND YORK
The General Synod is the national assembly of the Church of England. The General Synod considers and approves legislation affecting the whole of the Church of England, formulates new forms of worship, debates matters of national and international importance, and approves the annual budget for the work of the Church at national level.
There are two or three synodical sessions per year (4–5 days each), one or two in Church House, Westminster, the other at the University of York, and each session is officially opened by the monarch. The 2021 Winter Synod is probably THE big calendar date in the Church of England Year. It is the church’s AGM if you like, the place where the great and the good, literally, get together to discuss where they’re at.
Attending this year, as well as The Archbishop of Canterbury and the Archbishop of York, was His Royal Highness Prince Edward.
