ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANT ALYONA RYDANNYKH'S EXTRAORDINARILY ACCURATE PREDICTION

ALYONA is the only one of my Futureless interviewees who I already knew. A good friend of mine, who would once chide me for not using the green recycling bins for my waste paper when we worked together, she was, when we conducted this interview, working as an environmental consultant to corporations trying to salve some conscience, or limit their damage to the earth.

Three years on from when we talked and yes, eerily, we in the Uk, and the rest of the world are now all wearing masks on the street, as predicted. What she doesn’t predict, and bless her lack of cynicism for not doing so, is the mind-blowing apathy shown by the world in the face of scientific fact. With what lies ahead for us, we will surely look back on Covid with a degree of nostalgia as a simpler, easier time during which we had some minor privations. Because, as she says, it isnt going to be AI and tech that saves the day.
